Parents can view HIV/AIDS education materials at 6 p.m., Tuesday during a public meeting at Mustang Education Center. The Mustang School District offers the education to students in the sixth, seventh and 10th grades. The curriculum is approved by the Oklahoma departments of education and health. HIV/AIDS education will be scheduled at least one month after the parents meeting. A parent or guardian can object to their child’s participation in HIV/AIDS curriculum through a letter. No student will be required to participate in HIV/AIDS prevention education if a parent objects. Pastry sale to help cover national contest costsMustang High School varsity pom pom squad is selling Butter Braids pastries to raise funds to compete in a national competition. The deadline for orders is Oct. 14. Deliveries will be made Nov. 13. Each 22-ounce braided pastry serves 11 people and comes with an icing packet to drizzle atop your freshly baked pastry. Butter Braids come in several flavors — original, cherry, apple,cinnamon and cream cheese. They are made in a facility that processes nuts. Make checks payable to MHS DANZ.
