Mustang Historical Society is bringing its own version of “Antiques Roadshow” to the city Saturday.

Board certified appraiser Matthew McNeil has volunteered to examine and give approximate values for glassware, tools, furniture, collectibles, utensils and “relics from days gone by,” society president Dolly Priest said. No firearms or jewelry will be accepted.
McNeil, an Oklahoma City appraiser, is treasurer of the International Society of Appraisers Education Foundation.

That hope comes in the form of Oklahoma Department of Correction’s Prisoner Public Works program, which was designed to give inmates practical work experience during their incarceration and at the same time helps city and county governments cut taxpayer costs.

FAA Credit Union is hosting a college fair 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at its corporate headquarters located at 10201 South Western, Oklahoma City.

Mustang Branch Manager Carolyn Pape said the event is open to all high school and college students and their parents. Two financial aid seminars will also be held at 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Admission to the fair is free.

7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 27: Mummy and Me Dance

A Mummy and Me Dance will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 27. This costume party is for mothers and sons. There will be munchies, games and dancing to “Monster Mash,” mummy limbo and spider hip hop. A costume contest will be held with prizes for the best mom and son.

Cost is $15 per mom and son duo. Additional sons are $5 per child.
