Stage Door Theater’s production of “The Sound of Music” will open at 8 p.m. Sept. 13. Jackie Smola of Piedmont is directing the play, which will be performed in 11 shows starting at 8 p.m. Sept. 13-Sept. 15 and Sept. 20-Sept. 22. Matinees will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 15, Sept. 16 and Sept. 23. “The Sound of Music” is a beautiful and timeless story about a widower, Captain Von Trapp, played by Richard Evans, who is raising his seven children in Austria in the 1930s and is looking for a nanny. Thursday through Sunday: "The Sound of Music"

First Baptist Church of Mustang will host a Mothers of Preschoolers group starting this September. In its second year, MOPS will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month starting Sept. 12. A speaker and a craft will be offered once each month to parents while children play in child care. Once each month parents and preschoolers will have an activity together. The Stage Door Theater in Yukon will hold auditions for its October show, “Frankenstein 1930” Sept. 8 and Sept. 9. There are numerous parts for men and women of all ages. Auditions will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 8 and from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m Sept. 9 at 601 Oak in Yukon.
