‘Fight for Fame’ concert rescheduled

Five Mustang-area teens will finally get their chance to Fight for Fame Feb. 9.

5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday: Dad and Daughter Dance

Dad and Daughter Dance tickets are on sale at the recreation center.

Due to popular demand there will be two dances on Feb. 24 — the first starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by a second session at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5 per person and must be purchased in advance at the Recreation Center. No tickets will be sold at the door.

7 p.m. Saturday: Fifth- and sixth-grade dance

A dance for fifth- and sixth-graders will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Mustang Town Center. Advance tickets are $5 and are on sale at the recreation center.

7 p.m. Tuesday: Alzheimer's program

Central Oklahoma Alzheimer’s Association’s Marcy Gardenshire will talk at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at Town Center about the warning signs and risk factors of the disease, its progression, effective communication and caring for the caregiver.

Alzheimer’s disease affects the brain and causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior and is not a normal part of aging.

This program is presented jointly by the Mustang library and the Mustang Senior Center and will be held in the senior center classroom.

5 p.m. Friday: Fund-raising dinner

A dinner will be held at Mustang High School before the senior night basketball game between Mustang and Choctaw Feb. 16 to benefit Project Graduation.

Dinner catered by Applebees Restaurant will be served in the school cafeteria from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Meals can be eaten in the cafeteria or taken to go. Cost is $10.

The menu is a choice of steak or chicken, broccoli, mashed potatoes, salad, garlic bread, tea or lemonade and a cookie.

To purchase tickets, call Debbie White at 324-8401 or Annette Haben at 324-2488.

Project Graduation also needs 70 volunteers. The PTSA has 66 involved now.

Mustang Historical Society offers Saturday hours in February
