Union City voters on April 3 are being asked to pass a 1-cent sales tax to pay for fire equipment for its 12-man volunteer fire department.

Mustang School District voters will decide bond issues totaling $13 million Tuesday that if approved, would pay for improvements including a health and wellness facility and new classrooms.

Canadian County saw a population increase of more than 15 percent in the seven-year period since the last census was taken, and for the first time has surpassed 100,000 residents.

The first Mayor’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Wild Horse Park, south of Town Center.

Over 10,000 eggs will be hidden. There will be drawings for bikes in each age group. Age groups are ages 3 and under, 4 and 5 year olds, 6 to 8 year olds and 9 to 11 year olds. There will be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny.
