State insurance officials will be in the county Wednesday seeking public input on what services should be covered in a core or basic health plan. The meeting is set for 9 a.m. at the Canadian Valley Technology Center, located on state Highway 66 between Yukon and El Reno. Seating is limited and reserved on a first come, first served basis. Stage Door Theater’s production of “The Sound of Music” will open at 8 p.m. Sept. 13. Jackie Smola of Piedmont is directing the play, which will be performed in 11 shows starting at 8 p.m. Sept. 13-Sept. 15 and Sept. 20-Sept. 22. Matinees will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 15, Sept. 16 and Sept. 23. “The Sound of Music” is a beautiful and timeless story about a widower, Captain Von Trapp, played by Richard Evans, who is raising his seven children in Austria in the 1930s and is looking for a nanny.
