When LaDonna Bornemann nominated Canadian County Citizen of the Year Amanda Havern for that recognition, she said it was like nominating her second mother.

Festivities take place at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City.

Canadian County’s 72-bed jail is overcrowded with inmates who are either waiting for their chance to declare their innocence to the court or those that have failed in the attempt.

This event is free and open to the public.
