Obituaries for Feb. 22, 2007Burroughs, Tommy Mr. Burroughs died Monday. He was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Oklahoma City. He attended Capitol Hill High School. He is survived by a daughter, Bambi Nievez of Yukon; son, Rick Burroughs of Oklahoma City; a sister, Priscilla Hargis of Moore; and six grandchildren. Glasco Sr., J.D. Mr. Glasco died Saturday in Oklahoma City. He was born June 2, 1946, in Tulsa. He grew up in Oklahoma and in California. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Nomads. He is survived by his wife, Sandy of the home; sons, J.D. Glasco Jr. of Purcell and Tim Paxton of Mustang; a daughter, Kelly Stewart of Woodward; brothers, Clifford Glasco and O.C. Glasco, both of Redding, Calif., and Tom Glasco of Oklahoma City; a sister, Clara Lou Schwartz of Sacramento, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. Hollis-Peyton, Naomi Mrs. Hollis-Peyton died Feb. 11. She was a retired branch manager for Glen Justice Mortgage Co. in Oklahoma City and member of The Believers Church. Lewis, Evelyn Mrs. Lewis died Feb. 8. She was born Feb. 21, 1921, in Wolf Lake, Ill. She was a homemaker and had owned and operated The Dairy Bar in Paragould, Ark., before moving to California and Texas. She moved to Oklahoma in 1967 and to Mustang in 1973. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Rainbow Sunday school class. She is survived by a son, Ron Lewis, and a daughter, Sue March, both of Mustang; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Nyquist, Betty Mrs. Nyquist died Feb. 10 at her home in Mustang. She was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Mason, and grew up in the Mason/Welty communities. She was a 1946 graduate of Mason High School and attended East Central State College where she obtained her teaching certificate. She taught elementary school in a one-room schoolhouse in Welty. She moved to Mustang in 1966 and worked many years at Tinker Air Force Base and the FAA. In later years she worked in home health care. She is survived by daughters, Karen Wells and Nancy Bennett, both of Mustang; sons, Martin Nyquist of Mustang and William Nyquist of Auburn, Wash.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Pouder, Harry Mr. Pouder died Feb. 15. He was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo. He grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Capitol Hill High School. He was a Navy veteran. He worked for Boeing Aircraft Factory in Wichita, Kan., and was a field electrician at Tinker Air Force Base, retiring after 22 years of service. During his years at Tinker, he took leave to do six-month tours of duty as a civilian service personnel in Vietnam and Thailand. He is survived by his wife, Helen, and a brother, Pat Pouder. |
