Davis, Vercia
Funeral services for Vercia Calvin “V.C.” Davis, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, with burial in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.

Mr. Davis died Monday at his home in Mustang. He was born Sept. 29, 1927, on the family farm near Reydon. He was a graduate of Kingston High School in Kingston, Idaho, and attended Hill Business College in Nashville. He served in the Army. He owned and operated service stations in the Oklahoma City metro area for more than 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mustang.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; a son, Russell Davis of Newcastle; a daughter, Debbie Neugent of Oklahoma City; brothers, Lester Davis of Reydon and Carl Davis of Oklahoma City; a sister, Earlene Hughes of Arkansas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Shell, Retha
Funeral services for Retha A. Shell, 77, were held Tuesday at The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang, with burial in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Services were under direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Mrs. Shell died Dec. 27 at her home in Oklahoma City. She was born May 24, 1931, in Seminole. She grew up in Oklahoma City and was a 1949 graduate of Foster High School. She earned an associate of arts degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God College and had worked many years for various companies as an accountant. She lived most of her adult life in Oklahoma City and attended Old Faith Tabernacle for many years where she was active in children’s ministries. She was presently a member of The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang.

She is survived by her husband, William Shell of the home; sons, Bill Shell of Burnsville, Minn., and Randy Shell of Oklahoma City; a brother, Haskell Stratton of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Dosha Delozier of Virginia; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Turner, Lendel
Funeral services for Lendel Gene Turner, 72, were held Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Erick with burial in the Erick Cemetery. Services were under direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Mr. Turner died Dec. 24. He was born Jan. 15, 1936, in Maysville. He grew up in Warren and was a graduate of Warren High School. He moved to Oklahoma City where he worked for Downtown Chevrolet and Allstate Insurance. He was a custom harvester for several years before going into law enforcement. He served as chief of police for the city of Erick before becoming a special deputy for Beckham County.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy of the home; a daughter, Tonya Taylor of Mustang; a son, Scott Turner of Oklahoma City; sisters, Dorothy Southerland of Oklahoma City and Juanita Wilcox of Erick; a brother, Herbert Turner of Duke; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
