Horton, Doris
Graveside services for Doris La Fern Horton, 70, were held July 6 at Payne Springs Cemetery, Eustace, Texas, under direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Mrs. Horton died June 30 at a health-care facility in Greeley, Colo. She was born Nov. 4, 1935, in Bonham, Texas, and grew up in Bonham. She lived much of her adult life in Dallas, where she worked as a cashier in retail sales. She had lived the last few years in Greeley and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by sons, Anthony, Randy and Timothy, and a daughter, Tammy; sisters, Betty Handlin and Patricia Holbert; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Leslie, Shirley (Ferguson)
Word was received of the death of Shirley (Ferguson) Leslie on July 4. She was born April 5, 1934, in Oklahoma City. She was a 1951 graduate of Central High School. She retired from Hillcrest Elementary School in 2004, where she was special education assistant for special needs children. She was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; a son, Michael Leslie of El Reno; twin daughters, Jan Gibson of Granite Bay, Calif., and Ann Adams of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Robin Dresel of Mustang; sister, Theresa Nixon of Hays, Kan.; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Poire, Tom Gene
Memorial services for Tom Gene Poire, 46, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Life Church in Oklahoma City.

Mr. Poire died June 29 after a long battle with heart complications. He was born Dec. 30, 1959, and grew up in Amarillo, Texas, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1978. He moved to Oklahoma in 1980 and worked at the Mustang Optimist Club Baseball Park.
He worked in the swimming pool industry, both as a salesman and pool chemical analyst and managed a local company.

He coached local little league teams, golfed, fished and hosted neighborhood parties.

He is preceded in death by his wife Nicole Elizabeth Poire and his parents Rita Joy and Bill Creps and Norman Gene Poire.

He is survived by two children, William Poire of Midwest City and Jacob Poire of Mountain Home, Idaho; a brother Tim Poire and his wife Angie, a sister Cindy Poire, all of Amarillo; two grandchildren; an aunt and two nephews.
