Masons honor excellence

Mustang Masonic Lodge presented “Student of Today” and “Teacher of Today” awards recently.

The Student of Today award honors youth for scholarship, leadership, personal and academic development. The selection is made by each school’s staff with the criteria.
Honorees included Rian Beyer and Jeena George, Mustang High School; Addy Hodgen and Jacob Testerman, Mustang Mid-High; Ivey Lawson and Derek Garvin, Mustang Middle School; and Brandi Broadus and Robert Shaw, Mustang North Middle School.

Also honored were Geoffery Hightower and Jayden Chestnut, Mustang Centennial Elementary; Clarissa Clifton and Chase Brown, Lakehoma Elementary; Keegan Radichel and Danielle Clayton, Mustang Valley Elementary; David Schlesinger and Kayla Cox, Mustang Elementary; Jennie Brasier and Colby Caudillo, Mustang Creek Elementary; and Cody Sheets and Deborah Samkutty, Mustang Trails Elementary.

The Teacher of the Day selection is also made by the school staff and honors those teachers for their commitment to the community and to the future of children. Honorees included: Susan Lewellen, Mustang High School; Sharolyn Davis, Mustang Mid-High; Kathy Blackwell, Mustang Middle School; Bob Denison, Mustang North Middle School; Patti Sturdy, Mustang Centennial Elementary; Jenny Prather, Lakehoma Elementary, Davette Ravencraft, Mustang Valley Elementary; Linda Kolar, Mustang Elementary; Tiffany Lowe, Mustang Creek Elementary; Jammie Koch, Mustang Trails Elementary; and Dana Ervin, Mustang Education Center. Mustang Lodge member Loris Johnson, Bill McCormick, John McClain and Dan Cromwell presented the awards.
