An anonymous donor gave Friends of the Mustang Public Library $5,000 so the group could qualify for a matching grant six months before their deadline.

President Carolyn Klepper said $10,000 will be added to the Friends’ endowment fund for Mustang’s summer reading program, allowing the fund to gain more interest than volunteers first expected.

“It’s anonymous, I can’t tell you who it is,” she said. “Isn’t that exciting? You know why she gave it to us — she believes in libraries.”
