Clark, Carolyn Jane
Carolyn Jane Clark died Friday at her Mustang home as a result of breast cancer. Services were Tuesday at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang. Burial was in Star Valley Cemetery, southwest of Chandler, and was under the direction of McNeil’s Funeral Service.

Ms. Clark was born Dec. 20, 1943, at the home of her maternal grandparents, southwest of Chandler in Lincoln County. She was raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1962. She moved to Mustang in 1972.

She loved babies and taught toddlers in Sunday school for 48 years, first at Putnam City Methodist Church in Warr Acres, then at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang. She enjoyed her work as a secretary. She worked for American Fidelity Insurance Co. for 26 years and for Hobby Lobby for seven years before retiring in May 2007.

Survivors include her brother, John Hopkins of Guthrie; a sister, Mary of Oklahoma City; four nieces; two great nieces, and special friend Bill Owens of Mustang.

Mounce, Kailyn
Kaitlyn Cheyenne Mounce, 15, was killed in an automobile accident Sunday. Services were held Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Mustang with burial following in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wheatland. Services were was under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Kaitlyn was born May 13, 1993, in Oklahoma City. She grew up in Tuttle and was a freshman at Tuttle High School where she was a freshman cheerleader. She was a straight “A” student and had won many awards in cheerleading and dance.

Survivors include her parents, Keith and Shari Mounce, of the home; three brothers, Noah Mounce of Mustang, and Blake and Logan Mounce, both of Tuttle; grandparents Bob and Billie Seal of Oklahoma City, and Derrel and Karen Mounce of Mustang; great grandmother, Willie Howard of El Reno; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kaitlyn Mounce Cheerleader Scholarship fund in care of Mustang FAA Credit Union of Mustang.

Smith, Bailey
Bailey Morgan Smith, 16, died Sunday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Jan. 6 near El Reno. Services will be 10 a.m. today at The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang with burial in Yukon Cemetery under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Bailey was born April 23, 1992, in Oklahoma City and grew up in Mustang. She was a junior at Mustang High School and was attending Canadian Valley Technology Center where she was taking classes in interactive media and Web design. Bailey had played softball all of her life and loved sports and outdoor activities. She attended Crossfire at The Bridge Assembly of God.

Survivors include her parents, Craig and Brenda Smith of Yukon; a brother, Brandon Smith of the home; grandparents, Jim and Linda Smith, Robert and Pat Symes, all of Yukon and Wilber Symes of Oklahoma City.
