Schwind, Letha Mae
Services for Letha Mae Schwind, 92, were held Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Arrangements were under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Mrs. Schwind died Monday.

She was born May 11, 1916, in Custer City, and moved to Mustang in 2005. She worked several years as an office manager in a dental office. She enjoyed golfing and walking, walking almost daily until health problems interfered.

Survivors include two brothers, Frank and Bill Lackey; two sisters, Alma Jean Kimbell and Helen Bodey; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

Thurman, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Johanna “Jo” Thurman, 80, passed away Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday at Draper Park Christian Church, 8500 S. Walker, in Oklahoma City, with interment following in Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thurman was born May 20, 1928, in Watson, Illinois to Edward and Mary (Sutton) Buerger.

She was a machine line operator for Lucent retiring in 1991 after 25 years of service. She enjoyed her flower garden, sewing, reading her Bible and traveling to see her family. Her true joy though was spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; a son, Michael Cloud of Vernal, Utah; a daughter, Kara Hartman of Norman; a brother, Edward Buerger of Decatur, Ill.; two sisters, Marilyn Sadar of Tucson, Ariz. and Myrna Snell of Watson, Ill.; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Workman, Frank
Frank Freeman “Pappy” Workman, 82, died Wednesday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Visitation is set for 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Home. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Talihina Cemetery under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Home.

He was born April 17, 1927, in Pine Valley and grew up in Talihina. He served in the Army for four years before going into road construction, where he worked his entire career at a roller operator. He moved from Oklahoma City to Mustang in 1992.

Survivors include his wife Patricia; two sons, James Workman of Kansas City, Mo., and Johnny Workman of Mustang; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
