Funeral services for Michael Gray Fields, 47, were held Friday in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service with burial in the Mustang Cemetery.
Mr. Fields died July 4 at his home in Mustang. He was born March 24, 1959, in Oklahoma City. He grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Northwest Classen High School. He served in the Army. He was a master tile mechanic, an avid NASCAR fan and member of Ranchwood Church of Christ.
He is survived by his father, Arnold Fields of Mustang, and a brother, Brian Fields of Bethany.

Groves, Ronald Eugene (paid)
Ronald Eugene Groves, 58, died suddenly on Monday, July 3, 2006. He was born Dec. 18, 1947, in Hutchinson, Kan., to Glenn Dale and Norma Jean (Stiggins) Groves. He grew up in Hutchinson and was a 1965 graduate of Haven High School. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He moved to the metro area (Oklahoma City, Yukon, Mustang) about 30 years ago. Ron was a roofing contractor but was forced to retired due to failing health. He was a Baptist and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ty; a grandson, Brett; and a sister, Connie.

Survivors include his wife, Maggie of the home; a son, Richard Groves and his fiancée, Shelly of Cordova, Tenn.; a daughter, Nicole and husband, John; four grandchildren, Josh, Jennifer, Brittany and Cassidy; a sister, Dixie Oden of Hutchinson; and a brother, Randy Groves of Calumet.

Services were held Friday in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Jones, Johnson
Funeral services for Johnson Jessie Jones, 72, were held Saturday in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service with burial in the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.

Mr. Jones died July 4 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born Jan. 8, 1934, in Cole. He spent a good deal of his childhood in Pauls Valley and moved to Mustang in 1957. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and was nondenominational in faith. He was a member of the El Reno American Legion and VFW. He worked more than 35 years at Western Electric/Lucent before retiring in 1995 as an electronic technician. He was an accomplished musician, playing both the bass and lead guitars, and had played with several different groups.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of the home; a son, Danny Jones, and a daughter, Janie Zook, both of Oklahoma City; a brother, Paul Jones of Pauls Valley; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

McBroom, Lillie M.
Funeral services for Lillie M. McBroom, 75, were held Tuesday at The Bridge Assembly of God under direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Mrs. McBroom died Friday. She was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Big Spring, Texas. She grew up in Longview, Texas, where she graduated from high school. She also lived in Colorado and Nevada before moving to Yukon in 2003. She was a homemaker and member of The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang.
She is survived by her husband, David; a daughter, Debbie Ponder; and a brother, Kenneth Arnold of Apache Junction, Ariz.

Weymouth, Leslie Elmer Jr. (paid)
Leslie Elmer Weymouth Jr., 72, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on July 6, 2006. Leslie was born June 13, 1934, in Monroe, Maine, to Ethel and Leslie E. Weymouth Sr. He was a resident of the Oklahoma City area for 34 years and a member of Brookwood Baptist Church since 1993.

Leslie proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force until retiring in 1972. Leslie also retired from Ryder Truck Rental after 20 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and crafting.

He is now reunited with his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

He leaves cherished memories with his wife of 51 years, Alma Jean (Stephens) Weymouth of the home; sons, Mike Weymouth and wife, Donna of Yukon and Alan Weymouth and wife, Cheri of Tuttle; a brother, Harry Weymouth of East Lebanon, Maine; a sister, Dorothy Gray and husband, Bill of Zephyrhills, Fla.; four grandchildren, Courtney, Whitney, Audri and Erin; a great-granddaughter, Charity; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Services to celebrate his life were held Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Brookwood Baptist Church in Oklahoma City with burial following in the Mustang Cemetery.
