Obituaries - May 22, 2008Jimmy Dix Mr. Dix died May 14 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Pittsburg and grew up in Pittsburg and Clinton. He was a 1956 graduate of Clinton High School and served six years in the Army National Guard. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1961. He was an insurance agent and had worked since 1972 for B.L. Bishop and Associates. He is survived by his mother, Lois Dix of Oklahoma City; his wife, Avis, and a son, Eric, both of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Julie Sweeden of Mustang; sisters, Hazel McGregor of Pauls Valley and Corene Cabiness of Clinton; and four grandchildren. Betty Manasco Mrs. Manasco died Saturday at a Claremore care facility. She was born June 28, 1930, in Dustin and grew up in the Dustin community. She was a valedictorian of the class of 1948 at Excelsior High School. After high school she moved to Wewoka and worked as a telephone operator. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1949 and to Mustang in 1964. She worked several years at the Federal Aviation Administration and later in the cafeteria at Mustang High School. She attended Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. She is survived by daughters, Jonnie Gayman of Claremore, Judy Smith of Mustang and Janis Brown of Norman; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mark Alan Rice Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Rice; a baby brother, Michael Keith Rice; and grandparents, Herbert and Udora Rice and Alger and Mary Taber. Survivors include his wife, Debbie of the home; stepsons, Ryan and Brandon Miller, their wives and two grandsons, Kaddin and Braiden Miller of Yukon; his father, George Rice and wife, Judy of Mustang; brother, Steve Rice and wife, Gay of Piedmont; sister, Karen Kinsey and husband, Charles of Pawhuska; four stepsisters, Kathy Engles and husband, Rick of Jenks, Karla Buxton and husband, Richard of Hinton, Karen Glidewell and husband, Kenny of Broken Arrow, and Kelli Richardson of Bixby; stepbrother, Butch Corley and wife, Sheila of Broken Arrow; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mark will be remembered as a loving son, husband and father who was devoted to his family and friends. He was truly a big man with a big heart. Mark’s final prayer was to see all his friends, family and loved ones to accept his Lord and to see them in eternity. Funeral services were held May 19, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Yukon.
