H. David Holmes

Funeral services for H. David Holmes, 79, were held Monday in the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel with burial in the Mustang Cemetery.

Mr. Holmes died Feb. 28 in Yukon. He was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Nevada, Mo. He served in the Army as a medic following World War II. He moved from Ponca City to the Oklahoma City area in 1961. He was a property and casualty insurance specialist with Oklahoma Farmers Union for 31 years. He was a member of First Christian Church in Oklahoma City and the Mustang Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his daughter, Sidonie Oakland; sisters, Nancy Schulze of Vandalia, Ill., and Margaret Nanfito of Sylvania, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

Ronald Johnson

Funeral services for Ronald Clifford Johnson, 62, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, with burial in the Mustang Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson died Saturday in Oklahoma City. He was born Nov. 4, 1945, in Monet, Mo. He attended Verona, Mo., schools before enlisting in the Air Force. He served as a fire truck mechanic in Saragossa, Spain, and Madrid, Spain, as well as at Tinker Air Force Base, Sherman, Texas, and many other bases. He retired medically from the Air Force as a sergeant E-4 rank in 1978 after serving for over 11 years. He settled in the Yukon area in 1980.

He is survived by his wife, Delta of the home; daughters, Arra Johnson of Amarillo, Texas, and Sarra Raney of Lajes Field Azores, Portugal; his mother, Jayne, and a sister, Carol Ann, both of Missouri.

Helen Parker

Funeral services for Helen LaRue Parker, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service with burial in the Yukon Cemetery.

Mrs. Parker died Sunday at her home. She was born Oct. 8, 1931, in Raleigh, N.C., and grew up in the Raleigh area. As a military wife, she had lived at several military bases around the United States, much of that time in North Carolina. She moved to the Mustang area in 1974 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Mustang.

She is survived by her husband, Barney of the home; a son, Douglas Parker of Wylee, Texas; daughters, Martha Hammock and Barbara Coffman, both of Mustang; brothers, Nathan Lee and Earl Vance Cahoon; a sister, Dell Bunch; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lula Mae Harris

Funeral services for Lula Mae Harris, 88, were held Wednesday in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Russell Vicars officiating. Burial was in the Little Cemetery north of Seminole.

Mrs. Harris died Sunday at Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in Yukon. She was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Macomb. She grew up in the Macomb area, and the family moved to Seminole in 1928 from Meeker. She attended East Central University in Ada and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Seminole.

She is survived by a son, Dana Harris of Seminole; a daughter, Tena Coates of Yukon; sisters, Edith Butler of Camp Wood, Texas, and Louise Totten of Bethany; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
