Dorothy Lorraine Flowers

Dorothy Lorraine Flowers, age 92, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening, June 2, 2014.

She was born Feb. 11, 1922 in Marshall, Okla. to Frank H. and Emilie C. (Weber) Ficken. She grew up in Marshall and was a 1941 graduate of Marshall High School. Being a farmer’s daughter, she helped on the family farm until moving to Enid, where she worked a various jobs before becoming a medical assistant to several doctors. She moved to Mustang in 1970 and worked for a time at the FAA cafeteria. She was a member of Mustang United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; and two brothers, Leon and Alfred.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Royce of the home; one daughter, Joyce Flowers of Yukon; two sons, Tim Flowers and wife Diana of Decatur, Ga. and Robert Flowers and wife Melissa of Leesburg, Ga. Also by one granddaughter, Louisa; and one sister, Hilda Miller of Coppell, Texas. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 6 at Mustang United Methodist Church, with interment following in Mustang Cemetery.  Arrangements are by McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.
