Roy Lynn Ward

Roy Lynn Ward, age 54, died tragically on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in a truck accident in Blaine County.

He was born Nov. 14, 1959 in Borger, Texas, to GW and Alice (Martin) Ward and grew up in the Norman area. He moved as a teenager to Roosevelt, Okla., where he was a 1978 graduate of Roosevelt High School. He had worked in the oil field and trucking industry and presently owned and operated Ward Trucking Co. Roy lived in Mustang since 1986 and was a member of Lakehoma Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Survivors include his mother, Alice Ward of Ringling, and his wife of 34 years, Peggy of the home. Also by three daughters, Melissa Oakes and husband Kevin, Kimberly Lemley and husband Chris and Rebecca Collins and husband James, all of Mustang; five grandchildren, Jessica, Bryler, Westyn, Korbyn and Sofia; two brothers, Calvin Ward and wife Lesa of Hobart and Curtis Ward and wife Paula of Healdton; and one sister, Glynda Ward of Ringling.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at Lakehoma Church of Christ in Mustang, with interment following at 3 p.m. in Elk City Cemetery, under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service. Online condolences may be made at www.mcneilsmustangfs.com.
