Joyce Lavon Jones, 73, died Monday. Services were Wednesday at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service and burial followed at Waukomis Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service.
Mrs. Jones was born Jan. 7, 1938, in Enid and attended schools there. She was born with a heart condition and endured several surgeries, the first at age 10. Doctors said she would never live to be an adult, so she felt very blessed to live to age 73. She married Ralph Jones on Nov. 23, 1985, in Enid. They retired to Hot Springs, Ark., where they resided until her husband died in 2004. She then moved to Mustang to be near family and attended First Baptist Church of Mustang.
Survivors include sisters, Karen Walters and Carol Brown, both of Mustang; nephews, Billy Douglas of Silas, Ala., and Chad Walters of Enid; nieces, Carol Wentworth of Tuttle, Penny Albrightson of El Reno, and Stacy Davis and Brandy Burgamy, both of Mustang; Pepper Mourer of Nixa, Mo.; seven great-nephews and four great-nieces.
Memorials may be made to the Journey at First Baptist Church of Mustang or American Heart Association c/o McNeil's Funeral Service P. O. Box 1616, Mustang, Oklahoma 73064.
