FOUR BRONCOS CAN’T BOOST TEAM TO VICTORY
BY CLINT CRAWFORD
Edition:Thursday, June 04, 2009

Defense wins championships.
The popular saying was upheld in the 12th annual Jim Thorpe All-Star Game held Friday at Bronco Stadium.
The Suburban team triumphed over the Urban team 6-0 with a goal-line stand in the dwindling minutes of the game.
The Urban team got the ball to the one-yard line, but the Suburban's Jeremy Harris of Star Spencer stopped them on consecutive plays. A personal foul call backed up the Urban team.
Mustang player Nick Cartwright's number was called on the fourth-down play, but the passwas batted away.
The Suburban team scored the only points of the game off a DeAnthoni Williams two-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
A game dominated on the defensive side of the ball didn't stop MHS player Nick Cartwright from being named Offensive Most Valuable Player for the Urban team. He also recorded an interception on defense.
Linebacker Larry Wilson and nose tackle Qynton Harris also played on the Urban squad. Harris was able to record a sack. Wilson even played some fullback. Brian DiDonato was the target of a handful of passes, and he also handled kicking duties.
“I think they all had a good time out there,” MHS Co-defensive Coordinator Rod Henning said. “It was nice to see them be able to go out there and play one last game and represent their school. We will miss coaching them.”
