Four Lady Broncos earned All-Conference honors with top-10 finishes in the Metro Athletic Conference tournament on April 24 at Kickingbird Golf Club in Edmond.

Kaylee Neff, Lauren Sloan, Mackenzie Woodward and Sarah Kellogg all fired top-10 scores in the MAC tourney to help lead the Mustang girls golf team to a second-place finish in the conference tournament.

“We played pretty well,” Mustang head coach Rod Henning said. “We finished second in the conference and had four players make All-Conference. I was really pleased with Sarah (Kellogg) and Lauren (Sloan). Lauren finished up on 18 with an eagle to shoot an 83, and Sarah broke 90 for the first time this year. Both of them look ready to have a nice finish to the season.”

Edmond Santa Fe earned the top spot in the pack with a team score of 320. Mustang finished with the runner-up score of 337. Choctaw took third with a 363. Edmond North placed fourth with a 369 and Putnam City North rounded out the top five with a score of 387.

Neff closed her round with a 78, which was good enough for second place overall in the individual competition. Sloan placed sixth overall with a score of 83.Woodward took seventh place in the tournament with an 87. Kellogg finished in 10th place with a round of 89, and Cheyenne Woodward fired a 91 on the day.

The Bronco girls played in their regional tournament on Tuesday at Kickingbird in Edmond, making it the third time in three weeks Mustang has played at Kickingbird. If the Lady Broncos qualify for the state tournament, it will take place May 8 in Ponca City.

“I am excited for regionals and state the next two weeks,” Henning said. “With those two (Kellogg and Sloan) playing really well and the way Kaylee and Mackenzie have been steady for us all season, we have a chance to win regionals and place high in the state tournament. We just have to put it together on the same day. Hopefully, we can do that these last two tournaments.”
