Track season officially underway for Mustang

Mustang’s track season officially got under way last Friday in Norman at the Norman High track meet.

The Lady Broncos finished 15th overall as a team, and the boys squad finished 17th overall. Edmond Memorial won both the boys’ and girls’ competitions.

“I felt like the team competed about as well as we could have for the first meet of the season,” Mustang head coach Eric Peterson said. “Training has been limited this preseason due to weather, so we will continue to get better with more practice time.”

In the girls’ 100-meter dash, Stephanie Wilson took eighth place with a time of 13.31. Ashley Getz finished in 15th place with a time of 13.78, and Shelby Easton placed 54th with a time of 15.58.

In the girls’ 200-meter dash, it was Getz taking 20th place with a time of 29.32. Keyona Napier finished in 26th place with a time of 29.86, and Easton placed 46th with a time of 31.66.

In the girls’ 400-meter dash, it was Amirah Jones taking fifth place with a time of 1:03.34, and Katelyn Wood finishing in 28th place with a time of 1:10.42.

In the girls’ 800-meter run, Kyra Fuller took eighth place with a time of 2:34.95, and Sara Wojcak placed ninth overall with a time of 2:35.93.

In the girls’ 1,600-meter run, it was Fuller placing 11th with a time of 5:52.62. Wojcak took 17th with a time of 6:00.56, and Lauren Mason placed 21st with a time of 6:11.64.

In the girls’ 3,200-meter run, Rachel Burchill took ninth place with a time of 12:29.02.

In the girls’ 4×100-meter relay, Mustang took 11th place with a time of 53.73.

In the girls’ 4×200-meter relay, the Lady Broncos took 11th place with a time of 1:52.39.

In the girls’ 4×400-meter relay, Mustang finished in 12th place with a time of 4:35.70.

In the girls’ 4×800-meter relay, the Broncos placed fifth overall with a time of 10:36.49.

In the girls’ discus throw, Paige Ketch took sixth place with a throw of 96 feet, 11 inches.

On the boys’ side of the track it was Noah Park taking 55th in the boys’ 100-meter dash with a time of 14.30.

In the boys’ 400-meter dash, it was Josh Lantz taking 57th place with a time of 1:03.86, and Park grabbing 58th place with a time of 1:04.06.

In the boys’ 800-meter run, it was Josh Griffin taking seventh place with a time of 2:07.67.

In the boys’ 1,600-meter run, it was Lance Frost taking 11th place with a time of 4:42.67.

Frost took sixth in the boys’ 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:14.57.

In the boys’ 300-meter hurdles, it was Taylor Robinson taking 29th place with a time of 49.60.

In the boys’ 4×200-meter relay, Mustang took 12th place with a time of 1:39.35.

In the boys’ 4×400-meter relay, the Broncos took 19th overall with a time of 3:55.72.

In the boys’ 4×800-meter relay, Mustang grabbed 12th place with a time of 9:25.24.

In the boys’ shot put, Tristan Hill placed seventh overall with a toss of 46 feet. 1 inch.
