Donald Floyd Layne
Donald Floyd Layne of Yukon passed from this life on March 3, 2014.
He was born Sept. 12, 1945 in Gorman, Texas. Donald married the love of his life, Sharon Brown, on July 26, 1968 in Fresno, Calif. After attending Texas Bible College, he became an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal church International, pastoring churches in Texas and Oklahoma. Donald was an avid fan of the Oklahoma State University Cowboys, gospel music, old time radio and westerns.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Dorothy Layne; brothers Garvin “Scoper” Dean and Rev. Murray Layne; nephew and best friend Rev. Keith Layne; and sister-in-law Lila Pound Layne.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharon Layne of Yukon; children LaVonda Snelling and husband Glenn of El Reno; Daryle Layne of Yukon and Sharla Layne of Mustang; and only grandchild, Michael Reynolds of Mustang, as well as several nieces.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 6 at 11 a.m. at Life Tabernacle, 601 E. state Highway 152 in Mustang.
