Gary Garrison passed away Feb. 1, 2014 in El Reno.
He was born June 18, 1949 in Geary to Gene and Frances (Lawson) Garrison. He worked as a sergeant for the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office for 17 years and had worked at the Federal Correctional Institution for many years. He was a civilian contractor that specialized in training military police in Iraq. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting, camping, reading, and sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandma, Mae; brother, Michael Garrison; and stepdaughter, Leslie Ann Bond.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Garrison of the home; sons, Joe Garrison and wife, Megan of Dover and Bobby Garrison of Crowder, Texas; daughters, Traci Garrison and partner, Christy Smith of Alvarado, Texas, and Gina Garrison and partner, Erica Briggs of Keller, Texas; stepsons, Jason Bond and wife, Melissa of Guymon, Ronnie Bond and wife, Theresa of Highful, Ark., and Kevin Bond of Oklahoma City; stepdaughter, Shelly Hutchings and husband, Joel of Yukon; uncle, Paul Lawson; sisters, Deborah Payne and husband, Mike of Wynnewood, Donna Dunning and husband, Waylan of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mary Nelson and husband, Scott of Yukon, Cecilia Hood of Yukon and Shelia Taylor and husband, Joe of Yukon; half brother, Grant Garrison; grandchildren, Nigel, Darci, Kevin, Chelsea, Reagan, Logan, Triston, Sage, Carter, Tayler and Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Jacob and Braelyn.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 5 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in El Reno. Services were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
