Duane Lee Brown
Duane Lee Brown, age 61, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
Mr. Brown was born June 5, 1952, in Creston, Iowa, to Everett H. and Lorraine M. (Hess) Brown, and grew up in Afton, Iowa. He was a 1970 graduate of East Union High School and proudly served in the Iowa National Guard. Duane started his career with the Federal Aviation Administration in 1975, working in Des Moines, Iowa, and transferred to Oklahoma City in 1986. He retired in 2007 as an instructor after more than 32 years of service. He was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Peggy.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Rhonda of the home; one daughter, Linda Brown of El Reno; one son, Dean Brown and wife, Summer of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Autumn and Emma Brown; and his mother, Lorraine Brown, and one brother, Keith Brown and wife, Sheila, all of Afton, Iowa.
Visitation was held Jan. 3 and Mass was held Jan. 4 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, with an additional service held Jan. 4 at Mustang United Methodist Church, with interment following in Red Hill Cemetery in Mustang. A reception for family and friends was held Jan. 4 at Mustang United Methodist Church Family Life Center.
