Marjorie M. Hurley
Services for Marjorie M. Hurley, 96, of Minco were held Saturday, Dec. 21 at Minco United Methodist Church with Rev. Vera Walton officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
Mrs. Hurley was born Dec. 16, 1917, in the Hazel Dell community outside of Minco. She died Dec. 19 at her Minco home. She lived in Minco all of her life, graduating from Minco High School in 1936. Mrs. Hurley married Valton Clay “Charley” Hurley on July 27, 1938, in Guthrie. She and her husband owned Davis-Hurley Gas and Appliance, where she worked as the secretary. Mrs. Hurley also worked as a licensed beautician and as a teller and bookkeeper for the Bank in Minco. She was a member and treasurer for the Minco American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, cooked for the Kiwanis Club and was a member of the Rebekah’s Lodge, as well as a member of Minco United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hurley was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert Francis and Lucy Harper Rowe, and her husband, Charley, who died on Dec. 26, 1996, as well as two brothers, Delbert Martin and wife, Betty Rowe, and Eugene Dale and wife, Grace. Also, by sister, Virginia Grace Rowe, and a great-granddaughter, Emily Hurley.
She was survived by two sons, Albert “Butch” Hurley and wife, Nancy of Wagoner, and Alvin “Hoot” Hurley and wife, Martha of Minco; daughter, Peggy Boswell and husband, Steve of Minco; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
