Earl Vernon Moreno, age 71, died Thursday, Nov. 21. Mr. Moreno was born Oct. 28, 1942, in Concho to Frank and Addie (McDonald) Moreno. He was a graduate of Central High School in Oklahoma City and began working in the printing industry after graduation. He owned and operated Aries Printing in Union City until his retirement in 2000.
Vernon was a practical joker, who enjoyed making people laugh with his quick wit, guitar-playing and songwriting. But most of all he was a family man who adored his wife and loved his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence and Ray; and sister, Mercy Haag.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Angela (Puerta); son, Earl Vernon Jr. and wife, Carrie, and son, Chris; daughters, Mari Beth Lodes and husband, Matthew, Connie Cook and Renita Moreno and husband, Joe Belleville. Also by nine grandchildren, Kaylee, Earl Moreno III, Charde’, Tyler, McKayla, Corbin, Camden, Cadence and Lennon; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Jakob and Charlize; two grand-pups, Maizey and Cowboy; his brother, Gene; and sisters, Francis Anderson and Helen Castro.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 25 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Union City, with internment in Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City. Services were under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.
