Student’s get ‘bugged’ out
Fourth-grade gifted and talented students at Mustang Creek and Mustang Trails elementary schools got a glimpse into the study of entomology – insects – recently, as Cade Morris showed them up close everything bug-related. Morris is an entomology student in the master’s program at Oklahoma State University, and he brought several OSU exhibit cases containing large and colorful insects. He shared expertise about insect identification and classification and talked about how man interacts with the insect world.
“The students were amazed at the size and brilliant colors of the pinned insect specimens,” GATE teacher Cynde Morris said. “Mr. Morris also stayed and shared the insect exhibits with the entire student body at Mustang Trails.”
